I've always wanted a Les Paul Jr. but then I remember that I have a 1967-ish Gretsch Corvette. I bought this guitar at a guitar show around 1996 and really enjoyed back then. Somewhere along the line the old Nitrocellulose pickguard started to deteriorate and took some of the electronics with it. I got some new electronic bits and made a new pickguard for it. When I went to wire it up I discovered that one of the pickups wasn't working so I decided to make a new, new pickguard and just have a single pickup. Also when the original pickguard deteriorated it rusted out some of the original screws, a couple even broke off in the body so I had to fix those holes as well. When I got the new pickguard on and wired it up I got some delicious single pickup tones! I also changed out the bridge and nut. It still needs a good set up so it feels good to play but there's nothing like feeling like an old guitar sudden became a new guitar! Thanks for reading my first posting on this blog!
